Log In and Migration Help
If you are unable to login, it could be for a few reasons.
The most common is that you have not seen our emails and messages about moving to the new website platform. In that case you are using your account details from the previous system (if you signed up before 27th November 2024, this is you).
Blue Coffee Box and Blue Tea Box are now combined on one platform.
The correct login location is https://legacy.bluecoffeebox.com/customer/account (or https://blue-tea-box.cratejoy.com/customer/account for Tea) - please contact us urgently as we need your help to migrate you to the new system (or see our "How do I move to the new website" help article).
If that does not work, please check your email receipt to ensure you are using the correct email address or contact us for more help.
If you ordered from 27th November 2024, the account page for subscription changes is at https://account.bluecoffeebox.com
If you are still having issues or are still to migrate to the new system, please email us at [email protected]
Blue Coffee Box and Blue Tea Box both moved to a new website platform on 27th November 2024. It is a huge improvement, especially in your account where you can update, reschedule, skip, cancel, etc.
We have been asking our lovely customers for a bit of help moving to the new one as, due to card data security, we cannot trader your card details.
Please go to the new Blue Coffee Box site at https://www.bluecoffeebox.com/pages/coffee-subscriptions and recreate your order again (or make changes if required). For example:
Box > beans > surprise me > monthly > 3 months, etc > and select the start date
Or, if you have a Tea subscription, visit https://www.bluecoffeebox.com/pages/tea-subscriptions and the example would be:
Mini or Box > black, green, fruit/herbal, or surprise me > monthly, etc
Once that's done, reply to your email receipt to let us know. Then we can shut off the "old" account and move it all over. If you have a few deliveries left on the old system we can refund these or move them over and set the new account to run in synch after these are finished.
If you had any special setup on the old system, we will copy it over to the new one.
If you have any questions, please send us a message.
Getting Started
Every Blue Coffee Bag subscription contains one EcoBag with 227g of amazing "Speciality Coffee" from the current month's selection that best matches your personal preference. On average, 227g will make 15 cups/mugs of coffee.
A Blue Coffee Box subscription has two EcoBags containing 227g of coffee in each. Both bags will be different coffees. It is a continuing discovery voyage of the world of Speciality Coffee. That's likely to be 30 cups.
If you require more, you can set up a biweekly delivery to arrive every 14 days.
Our Blue Tea Mini Box contains three 25g EcoBags of tea (30-60 cups depending if you like to brew a 2nd cup) of loose leaf tea every month
The standard Blue Tea Box contains Three 45g EcoBags (54-108 cups) of loose leaf tea in each delivery.
Yes, we do. And it's wonderful. Our decaf subscribers tend to be our longest continuing members as no other company has a monthly ever changing decaf subscription. We challenge you to tell the difference.
Even better, we also offer a "half and half" Blue Coffee Box with one bag of decaf and one of normal coffee. We think that may be a first.
For Tea, our decaf options are the fruit, herbal and rooibos. Green tea has a lower level of caffeine but still contains it.
We cannot offer black or green decaf tea as there is very little available at the quantity level that we use. And, it tends to be restricted to just breakfast blends and Earl Grey. As our teas change every month, we recommend trying rooibos or the fruit and herbals.
It's up to you. Whole bean is best as you can grind it on demand for the freshest taste. Or we can grind it to your preference.
We grind your coffee just before it goes in the post so it's at its very freshest. There are 4 levels of grind:
- Cafetieres and French Press plungers need a coarse grind
- Pour over (like Hario V60, Chemex) and filter drippers need a medium/fine grind
- Aeropress is a little more fine
- Espressos and stovetops work best with a fine grind
Our grinders are special commercial level Ditting grinders and we use a separate Ditting grinder for decaf coffee.
For subscriptions, you make your purchase as normal and it will automatically charge your chosen credit card at the next renewal and send you your next box (or after 3, 6 or 12 months, depending on your plan).
You will be sent an email a few days before the renewal so make sure our emails are not going into your spam folder.
Naturally, you can cancel at any time before your next box is dispatched. You can do this from your account at https://account.bluecoffeebox.com. See our "How do I cancel?" article. It's very easy.
If you want to purchase a single bag you can order as a "gift" and for 1-month as gift subscriptions do not renew.
Yes. You also have the option to buy as a "Gift" subscription and for one month. Our Gift subscriptions do not renew.
If you are unsure how many deliveries you want, it's very easy to cancel subscriptions and there is a one-click "cancel" button on your account page. Just remember to set a reminder in your calendar for a few days before the renewal. We will email to remind you in advance, too.
For Teas, we sell all of our teas as individual packs at https://www.bluecoffeebox.com/collections/coffee-tea with delivery included for any order over £15.00 (£2.99 for orders up to and including £15.00).
Every month we choose new guest coffee roasters to work with and select new coffees. Our coffee curators will send you the beans they think best match the options you chose on your subscription.
Every shipment will contain different beans as we want you to experience the ever changing world of Speciality Coffee. As they are single origin, even if it comes from the same region as a couple of years ago, it will taste different due to climate and weather and growing changes in the same way of vintage estate wines.
Most of our coffees are microlots and are unique to Blue Coffee Box. You will not find them in supermarkets.
For tea, we have roughly 100 different teas and we make sure that every box contains a different selection. If you love one in particular, it can be purchased at https://www.bluecoffeebox.com/collections/coffee-tea
Subscriptions
You will be billed on the renewal "anniversary" date of your subscription.
For example, if you purchase a monthly subscription on May 4th, it will renew each month on the 4th until cancelled. If you purchased a 6-month, it would be renewed on November 4th.
You will be sent an email with details of each renewal and a receipt on payment.
If you ordered as a "gift", your subscription will not renew and will just expire at the end. To change this, please get in touch.
Yes, please visit your account page at https://account.bluecoffeebox.com
If you'd prefer us to do this for you, just ask, or reply to any of our emails and our team can sort that out for you. It's never a problem.
Yes, just login to your account and go to edit subscription where you should find the option to change any of the details of your subscription.
https://account.bluecoffeebox.com
If that does not work or you'd prefer us to make the change for you, email us at [email protected] or open a ticket and we will be pleased to set that up for you. Account changes are never a problem.
Gift subscriptions work the same way as our regular subscription box and we will deliver it to any address you ask along with your gift message. There is also an option for gift wrap. These are hand wrapped using recyclable gift wrapping paper.
Gift subscriptions will not renew at the end https://www.bluecoffeebox.com/pages/give-a-gift
Once you have made your coffee or tea preferences you will be asked to add a gift message. Don't forget to tell them who it is from.
After that, you will be asked when you want it posted. Royal Mail takes 2 working days to deliver and you will be sent the tracking information so you can see if it has arrived.
If you want to download and print a gift certificate, a link is in your purchase email.
You will also see that we have gift cards if you'd prefer your recipient to make their own choices.
Our coffees change on the 1st off each month and we will have run out of the previous month's coffee after two or three days of the new month.
It is worth emailing us on [email protected] or opening a ticket to ask but, if it is more than a week into the next month, we will not have any left.
Our coffees are mostly single origin "microlots" and we often take the entire crop. Even if that coffee is used again the following year, the new crop is likely to be slightly different.
If it is one of our teas, most are available for sale at https://www.bluecoffeebox.com/collections/coffee-tea in various sizes with free delivery included.
Don't worry, you did receive the correct roast that you selected.
It may appear different to the other coffees in the same box but this is because different processes, roasting, and varietals will create different looking beans.
The colour of the beans does not relate to the dark brown shiny ones available from supermarkets. Our guest roaster will have used his or her vast experience to delicately roast this to the exact degree for the particular bean varietal.
The taste will still be amazing.
Yes, please visit your account page at https://account.bluecoffeebox.com
If you'd prefer us to do this for you, just ask, or reply to any of our emails and our team can sort that out for you. It's never a problem.
Every bag has our unique Taste Guarantee.
If you don't like it just email us on [email protected] or open a ticket and we will send you a different one.
Every single bag will be from a different roaster, country, region and will contain different coffee bean varietals so it is almost unheard for any of our members to not like the next one.
Shipping and Delivery
In order to deliver fresh coffee that has just been roasted we ship your fresh coffee out the door the next working day after you order - unless you selected a future delivery date in the order process.
Royal Mail tracked post takes 2 working days and it will come with your normal daily post. Our packages fit through standard letterboxes so you do not need to be in to receive a delivery. You will be emailed the tracking link.

We feel that the Royal Mail has the lowest environmental footprint as they are visiting every street anyway so we are not adding new journeys.
Unfortunately, no. Due to increased international postal delays, and surcharges from Brexit in the EU countries, it is impossible for us to deliver freshly roasted coffee outside the UK in a timely or reliable manner.
https://www.bluecoffeebox.com/pages/delivery
If you think it may be lost in the post, get in touch and we will find it or send a replacement.
The Royal Mail do not return undelivered packages as quickly as they could - sometimes a few weeks later. Please wait a few days after we've sent the tracking link as they occasionally turn up when the tracking information suggests they have a problem.
Occasionally our packages will not fit through older letterboxes or into mailboxes in flats so check the tracking link as it should show a photograph of the delivered item.
Whatever happens, we will make sure you are drinking perfect coffee as soon as possible.
Yes, for subscriptions (and gift subscriptions), Royal Mail tracked delivery is free to anywhere in the UK.
If you order a one-off product from our Shop, delivery is free for any order over £15.00. Up to and including £15.00 the cost is £2.99.
To pause or skip a delivery, please log in to your account and see the various options at
https://account.bluecoffeebox.com
If that does not work or you want us to make the changes for you, contact us on [email protected] and we will sort it out.
Please note that we cannot stop a delivery once you have received the tracking or shipment email.
Accounts and Billing
Note that we cannot pause indefinitely. There has to be a next shipment date but that can be changed as often as you need.
Login to your account at https://account.bluecoffeebox.com and click "Subscriptions".
Then click "View subscription" (be careful to select the correct one if you have a few). On the next page, you will see a "Cancel Subscription" button at the bottom.
Please note that cancelling a subscription simply stops the next renewal payment. It does not stop pre-paid subscriptions and does not automatically refund any money.
If you cancel, you will still receive all pre-paid coffee deliveries.
Login to your account at https://account.bluecoffeebox.com and click "Profile".
On the next page, you will have the opportunity to edit or enter a new card. Please enter the card details then at the bottom of the page there is a button to assign that payment method to your subscription.
If your existing card expired and your renewal failed, the system will automatically take payment as soon as a valid card is added. It will email you a receipt as confirmation.
Any of our marketing and special offer emails will have a one-click unsubscribe button at the bottom that will automatically unsubscribe you instantly. Please note that you will miss all special offers from that point. Sometimes it is easier to just delete an email that is of no interest.
If you have a current subscription, you cannot unsubscribe from transaction emails that confirm orders or renewals as we need to contact you with payment and delivery tracking information.
Renewals generally fail due to the card on file expiring or having a lack of funds. It will try again each day for 5 days then your subscription will be cancelled.
To update your card, login to your account at https://account.bluecoffeebox.com and click "Profile".
On the next page you will have the opportunity to edit or enter a new card, after your card is added, you will see a button at the bottom of the page to assign that card to your subscription

We accept all major credit and debit cards.
Our card payment processor is the Shopify platform or Shop.app which powers many payments for ecommerce purchases worldwide.
If you are asked to enter an SMS text, this is the Shop.app recognising you and checking that it is you before using your card for payment. This is a strong security level as we have no access to your card information.
Gifts and Coupons
If you are the gift recipient and do not have access to the buyer's account, email us on [email protected] and we will be pleased to make any changes for you. It's never a problem.
Yes. During the order process where you select your preferences, the last question asks if you want to enter a gift message.
Your message will be printed on a gift card and inserted within the sealed box. We can fit longer gift messages in but we have to shrink the text if it is very, very long.
Please remember to tell them who the gift is from or they may never know.
Enter your coupon code on the checkout page and click the "Apply" button.
Make sure you see the amount change so that you know it has worked.
Your coupon code must be valid and must be redeemable against your selected product. Some coupon sites feature old, expired coupons as a way to make people come to their websites.
Coffee Questions
If you are new to Speciality Coffee, the easiest and lowest cost way to brew ground coffee is with a cafetière (also known as a French press).
Once you decide to advance, there is no need to purchase an expensive espresso machine. Gadgets such as an Aeropress, Clever Dripper, Chemex, Hario V60 and the classic Moka pot (aka stovetop) will all give great results.
One of your best advances will be a quality "burr" grinder (different to the cheap steel blade grinders) so that you can enjoy the freshest coffee for any brewing method.

Speciality Coffee farmers often employ organic methods but the organic certification is not always possible or feasible where they are based or due to cost.
Speciality single origin coffee is usually produced in microlots by smallhold farms. These don't tend to use mass agricultural methods or chemicals as Arabica coffee is grown on mountainsides so modern spraying and fertilising methods used in intensive farming are not possible.
Fairtrade guarantees a price to the farmer but there is no requirement for quality. Our roasters use Direct Trade - purchasing direct from the farmer - as the farmers get paid much more than Fairtrade prices - generally, over 30% more. This enables them to reinvest in sustainable farming and to support their families.
Our coffee curators are specialist coffee graders from the best roasters in the UK. Your coffee preferences are matched to the most appropriate coffees for you.
This is how we guarantee you'll love every bag.
Speciality Coffee is a term for coffees that score over 80+ on the SCAA quality chart and is a worldwide recognised standard.
Most of our roaster employ an in-house QGrader (like a wine sommelier) and our coffees will score over 83++ which places them in the top 2% of all coffee on the planet by quality.
Our recyclable EcoBags are specifically made for coffee storage. Along with ziplock resealing, they have a special one-way valve that allows the CO2 to escape but stops oxygen entering. CO2 is generated for a few days after the roasting process as the coffee gases off and is quite normal.
There are many airtight containers and, for longer term storage, coffee can be to frozen as long as it is still in the sealed bag and unopened.
Do not freeze or put in the fridge once opened
We have an article discussing storage options here The Best Way to Store Coffee to Keep It Fresh
Tea Questions
When you complete your order, you will be asked when you want the first delivery to be sent. Our Royal Mail tracked delivery service takes two working days and you will be sent the tracking information so you can see where it is or make changes.
Your delivery will then be sent at the same time on the schedule you chose each month, every two months, or every two weeks. Please contact us if you would like to change the frequency of deliveries or change the date.
At busy times such as Christmas, our in-house team packs as fast as they can but will have some holiday days with a short period of catching up after.
If you chose our Blue Tea Box Mini option, you will receive three 25g EcoBags of tea in every delivery (30-60 cups). or our signature Blue Tea Box you receive three 45g EcoBags which is 135g in total (54-108 cups).
A cup of tea, on average, uses 2.5g per cup and you can usually brew a second cup with the same tea.
Our Tea Merchants search for the best rare and single-origin teas and infusions. These are blended in the UK and, based on your choices and our special algorithm, we send you an every-changing variety of teas in each delivery.
If you every want to change your future preferences please contact us. It's never a problem.
Our teas are rare and single-estate.
Our Tea Merchants are top tea specialist blenders who only work with rare teas. You won't find these in any supermarket.
One way you can tell the difference is to see the size of the leaves after brewing. Some are huge and that gives all the flavour of the tea. If you look at a fruit tea, you will notice chucks of real fruit such as pineapple and these are edible.
Once you have tried this quality of tea, you will never want to change.
This is fabulous loose leaf tea so any form of infuser (new subscription orders receive a free infuser), teapot or strainer will be needed. Many modern teapots have a strainer inbuilt as standard and this makes the process very simple.
Each bag will have the recommended amount, temperature and brew time on the label.
It's also possible to add the tea into single-use teabags available from some online stores.
When you place your order your receive an instant email confirmation. If there are any ingredients you are allergic to (or that you dislike), please reply with the allergy or dislike and we will add this to your notes and avoid teas with that ingredient.
If you have a serious nut allergy (as opposed to dislike), we need to know as we cannot guarantee nut-free preparation from our multiple suppliers and blenders.
Please note that we try to avoid supplying teas with known allergens such as nuts or dairy in the ingredients, just in case.
